The Girl I am

I am more than the beauty you see I am not just the afro on my head or the bottom behind me I am more than my voluptuous bosom and much more than my curves There is a girl behind the woman I am and that you see. A girl who is more than her body; A young girl with stubborn dreams And hard-headed ambition Not easily dimmed by a man who says “you can’t” But strengthened by a God who says “you have.” The girl I am lives in the woman I am becoming; A woman who can’t be defined by anyone other than herself; A girl who knows who she is; A woman who is confident in where she is going; The girl I am works together with the woman I am becoming To make a powerful and unstoppable me!
