A child wept while I watched

I turned on the television the other day and saw a black child on the screen.
I saw a child weep because he watched his mother die
He wept because his father was set alight in front of him
I saw a child weep because his sister was raped and he was forced to watch
I saw a child weep on television because his brother was beaten to death by soldiers who call themselves "peace keepers"
I saw a child weep because a gun was placed against his head.
He wept beacause he too was forced to kill.
The child who wept was 6.

I watched as he cried because he was afraid
He wept because no-one cared enough to comfort him
I watched as they stripped him and beat him like a dog
I saw a child weep on the television and just like the soldiers, just like the cameraman,just like the president of his country, just like his neighbours,just like the world...

I did nothing about it.
