There is a man I have had the privilege of meeting.
He was born with the heat of the Venda sun shining on his head
And the warmth of the Venda soil burning under the soles of his feet
In his heart is where the fire of the Venda spirit burns without any chance of dying
In his middle age, he has the laughter of a child and the humour of an adolescent
His wisdom is that of a grandfather and strength of a young man
His love for his family has opened heavens door to his secret place of peace
While the world around him is fighting against his flesh,
When the earth he calls his present is turned upside down because of lack
He is able to tap into his secret place of peace and it calms his soul.
His place of peace takes him to a destination where tomorrow is bright.
A place where yesterday and it's pain is forgotten.
The past has no standing because tomorrow can be shaped and determined by now.
His place of peace is the memory of his wife and three children.
They give him an excuse to respond to mother natures call for him to work.
And when he gets that call he answers it with boldness
A boldness that stands against life and the pain that it drags along with it.
A boldness and courage that break the boundaries of loneliness
And shatter the walls of poverty
A boldness that screams out to misery and says
I AM NTATE RECKSON MALUTA NENGUDZA!
