Majayivane!
The beat moved her waist, it shook her hips and her she gyrated with her flexible shape all over the dance floor. Aware of the looks she received from the men and women surrounding her she continued to dance. As if nothing in the world mattered more than the beats and sounds of the house music that filled the room. The smoke in the air lifted her mood, the drums, guitar, percussion and lyrics hypnotised her to sway her figure up and down. It shook her to the left and right and made her head spin. Her passion for music took her out of her religious shell and allowed her to be free. When she heard music she let go of insecurity, judgment and self doubt. She forgot all about the names, trials and snares she received in everyday life. When she was in the music she was away from her sad world. She felt closer to Yahweh while listening to the beats and rhythm of sound than she did while at mass. She felt one with God when she danced and lost control of her inhibitions and worries. She could hear him speak to her through songs and tunes. She could hear him whisper “I love you my child” and it pleased and excited her spirit. She danced the night away and danced to the mornings glory and was at peace.
